Trying to stay upbeat

By in daily grind, love, seriously?

This morning was hard, saying goodbye to Shannon. It’s very quiet here without him or Ari crashing around, but it means I can do some serious cleaning and listen to the radio as loud as I want to.

I won’t make this any longer than necessary: there’s no cream here for coffee and I have to remedy that before a migraine sets in.

Anyway, on the hand front. My hand is healed. Seriously. I went to see the plastic surgeon on Friday who said it looked fine to him and to exercise it to make sure the scar tissue stretches out properly. He said I could leave without bandages but that made me too nervous, I was going onto TTC and the movie theatre, and didn’t want to risk the cooties. Not to mention it still looks pretty awful and it’s easier when it’s bandaged to avoid horrified glances.

So all it took was a  week. I find it amazing, honestly. The skin is tender still, I don’t like fabric rubbing on it-or hot water, but over all, not a problem at all and I haven’t even had one pain killer since Friday morning. Funny how those first few very dark days…I really wondered if my hand was screwed forever.

Friday:

Today:

It doesn’t even look that red irl.

Today, flexed:

You can see where it’s tight.

That’s it! Hopefully no more hand blogging from now on.

Wow – I wouldn’t have thought that it was possible for your hand to heal that well, that quickly. I think you are wise to keep it covered when you’re out.
    xo

Good news, and much faster then expected. So you can at least have a good time while you’re Caitlin home alone :).

thats awesome that your hand is healing well :)

if it sucks for me as bad as it does not being able to start my day reading some update on shannon’s site, i couldnt imagine how bad and gloomy it must be for you since hes so much closer to you and you regularly see him in person n whatnot.

sometime, very soon hopefully, i can talk with you about this squidcheing n activities of the sort as for some strange reason, not sure why, but my creative side wants to be able to croche amigurumi-esque things so ill have to pester you seeing as how the tutorials i have found were apparently written by dyslexic monkeys that have genetic deficiencies and what little videos i find seem to be made by the same, only these have parkinsons and cant hold their hands still infront of the camera longer than a few seconds.

i hope your day goes well and you enjoy the cleaning and loud radio, hopefully your radio plays actual music up where you are instead of auditory diarrhea

    :)

Glad to hear you’re doing better! I had a little tangle with our wood pile on Saturday, and I lost and am now the proud owner of one heck of a shiner! But I did manage to not break my face!

  8. used to be when you were proving info for the domeday book a test was to burn your hand – if it healed as yours did – they’d believe you.
