So I finally got glasses. I had a pair years ago, picked while drunk and lost while drunk. They’d never been replaced because they were so expensive I thought all glasses were out of my financial reaches. So I asked for them for my birthday because reading was getting to be stupid.
I’m working on a dress for myself. It’s an easy pattern, the staple dress by April Rhodes who we met at camp, fell in love with, and I was tempted to kidnap her and take her home with me. Lord knows she is small enough. Anyway, my first one will be done soon.
I guess this was more about glasses than sewing.

The glasses look quite nice on your face.
beautiful!
You look lovely with glasses!
Shame that the suckers can be SO insanely expensive but these days you can find some good deals online.
Can’t wait to see your dress.
Yep, gigs suit you!
Nice! I was actually reminded that I need new ones this morning when my darling daughter handed them to me while stretching the ear bars (what are they called!) out – “here you go mummy”. I kinda freaked as I am completely blind without them and I have no spares!
Definately check out clearly contacts (clearlycontacts.com) great glasses and amazingly inexpensive. They often have a first pair free promo.
Good choice xoxo
Looks cute on you, I like wearing glasses, I think I would wear them even if I didn’t need to. They are stoopidly expensive though.
love the choice. Glad you’re starting to feel like making things. Post the dress when you’re done, I’m wanting to make some basic tunics, but am always a bit scared to sew a proper garment. Back in art school I’d make clothes, but never properly, and they’d explode somewhere in public or bust a seam or whatever, so now i’m scared. ;)
Andrea, if I can do a staple dress, ANYONE can do one. Especially considering the best one I made I cut 2 fronts by accident and it’s still perfect? Haha!
Nice glasses and a super cute picture of you!
