Leaving.

By in caitlin's crap, crochet, love, making stuff is good

In a few short hours I will be leaving for the airport. I’m headed for England, my first cousin is getting married next weekend and I’m so excited. I think it’s 7 years since I was there last. I’m really terrible with packing, my choices were a too small suitcase and a too big suitcase. I went big which means I’m bringing a lot of stuff.

Here is a small portion of my carry on, a patchwork zippy bag I made this morning to hold small knitting things. I’m making more necklaces, I really love how they turn out and it’s something to keep my hands busy while I’m listening to books on tape.

Anyway, I’ll write when I get home, stories and pictures.

Where abouts in England will you be visiting? Pack waterproofs as it’s currently very rainy – the wettest July on record!! x

I’m near Dover. It was very wet here up to the day before we arrived but it’s very sunny and warm now and people keep thanking us for bringing good weather with us!

Finished it! Pictures here: http://www.aardvarkanddonkey.com/?paged=2 and one showing the backing here: http://www.aardvarkanddonkey.com/

Do you buy all your fabric from The Workroom? Or online? I’m trying to find some Christmas fabric for my next quilt (not super overtly Christmassy with Santa Clauses and so forth, but snowflakes/peppermint stripes and so forth…) and The Workroom doesn’t seem to have any at the moment.

    Hope you’re enjoying your trip!

I do a large part of my fabric shopping online. I love the workroom and try to support them but there is no way Karyn can stock every little bit. I love your first quilt, how big is it?

welcome to the UK! if the weather is your doing – thank you muchly :) If you’re planning on being in London and need anything let me know! (and I’d totally love to be able to get some sewing and machine advice!)

Sadly, I will not be in London. The Olympics make it a little too crazy for me, but I wish I could. Mostly just to hit the Liberty store!

Ahh well – London is leaning on the insane end of things at the moment. There are SO MANY TOURISTS wondering around wearing olympic branded outfits and clogging up the tube stations. We’re all planning on working from home for 2 weeks :P
Liberty is AMAZING – by far the best dept store in London imo :)
