I have had a few great days shopping at Value Village. Yesterday I found 4 incredible dishes that set me back a whopping $4.48 with tax. I am not posting a picture (yet) as I haven’t decided where they will wind up. Suffice it to say that they will make someone, somewhere, very happy.
I returned today, often I find that if I get a good score one day, it’s smart to return the next day just to check and see if more of that particular donors collection has been priced. Well, I was somewhat disappointed on that end, no more of that set, boo hoo, but I did get a new sugar bowl that will probably live in my sewing area and hold safety pins. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this pattern my parent’s wedding dish pattern? I think maybe. It’s not the fanciest or prettiest pattern out there but I still like it a lot. It’s got a really lovely Canadian feel to it, autumn maple leaves and keys tumbling down. There are more dishes, both dinner and salad sized, I might go back.

I also got this super, SUPER, awesome pillow case today. It’s Marimekko and it’s so cute. Big and square. It will get folded up and stacked with the rest of my precious vintage bedding. Can’t complain for 99c.

Now. I’m sure everyone is wondering why I basically don’t blog any more. And I’m also sure that if you try you’d be able to figure it out. If not, here is the simple answer: I really only like to blog when I’m feeling good and that feeling is hard to come by these days. Twitter is easier, I don’t feel bad constantly complaining and bitching there, I just don’t want this to turn into that. I know everyone is understanding and patient.
I’m patient and understanding and I also miss your blog-entries :).
Wishing you the best, you deserve it!
Thanks Janet.
Aw, poop to being sad! But hey, it’s understandable. Life can be hard sometimes. I’m just pulling out of a small funk myself….
I’m on Twitter! I posted the link as my website. Follow me? I looked for you but couldn’t figure out what username you might have there. xo
I’ve missed your entries! And your quilts! :) Hope you find many hidden happy pockets amongst the rest.
I’m actually working on something so cute and so cool that is a gift but I’ll blog it soon. Not a quilt.
Also, I bought the matching creamer to that sugar bowl. And another adorable sugar bowl. Maybe another collection? Just what I need.
Great haul! I think the originals were Royal Worcester but can’t remember the name of the pattern. This certainly looks like the dishes though. xo
I think these are Alfred Meakin. I got the creamer too, 3 days later!
I hear you. I stopped blogging for the same reason. Then I had to delete it and as much of my Internet presence as I could because the person who put me through hell tried to use my blog entries as proof that I am a mentally deranged person and unfit mother. I get it now, why some people blog anonymously.
I have missed you. And our made up friendship. I have started quilting and it makes me think of you a lot. Maybe one day we could get together and work on some handiwork together.
I’m having a friend here the first weekend of May for some sewing. You would be more than welcome!
