Dollhouse #2

By in dollhouse

I started renovations today without really thinking about it but I like how it’s going. A trip to Home Depot inspired me, well, Martha Stewart paint chips inspired me. And the book was surprisingly exactly the right size. And I love how the sky light in the play room on the right side matches in nicely:

I also made shutters and window boxes with leftover pieces:

I’m fully aware that I said before that I’d planned to do a grey scale theme with this one. OH WELL!

Nothing is glued permanently in place yet, I have to paint all that yellow siding out. I might do a different colour for each wall, I don’t know yet!

The interior will continue with the paint chip theme, using larger pieces. And I got some wood laminate for the floors, I’ll dye it to match.

Exciting!

I like it too, thanks. I’m dying to get back to Home Depot and swipe a couple more of the books. I might even BUY a sample can of her paint!

Not sure if your house has a working stove or not. Saw this, thought of you. http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Antique-Empire-Toy-Oven-WORKING-7380593.html#des

Just found your blog through a link on Iotacons. Been browsing and love your style :)
This dolls house reminds me of Pippi Longstocking’s house http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_dkmxBix3b4Q/Swgh5tVn6zI/AAAAAAAAAf8/eVxeBWg49z4/s1600/Villa_villekulla.jpg

Looking forward to seeing your final result :)
