Colours/Changes

By in crochet, Griping, seriously?

I won’t be blogging as much anymore. Not only do people almost never comment on my blog-leading me to think no one reads it anymore so what’s the point-I’m making a computer switch out to using my ipad almost exclusively. This laptop is a piece of shit that I never got to properly test drive before I bought it. It drives me bonkers-I can’t type properly on it because it’s always thinking about other stuff so I’m constantly fixing missed letters. I’m a good typer under normal circumstances, ask Ali.

So I am only updating when the mood strikes. If you subscribe via google reader, better for you, you won’t miss a thing or feel angry hitting reload all day.

Right now I am super busy working on about 100 different projects and I realized-yarnily speaking-that my favourite colours are green and yellow. More green, I guess. I wear a lot of green too, the nice lady at the Indian restaurant commented on that once.

Look at all this green, just look at it. And yellow, look at that too:

Oh, I love it. Of course, picking all the greens/yellows out of my stash left me with a bin of everything else:

So that’s it for now. I’ll catch you on the flipside (and I’ll see you in less than 2 weeks, yay!).

I get lots of crafty inspiration from your posts so hopefully you don’t give it up entirely!

  2. Megan says:

I’ll miss all of your crafts!! And your musings! Please don’t be totally gone!

  3. Caitlin Jane says:

Not totally gone, never. Just less often. I guess, even lately, it’s been once a week or something.

I think initially there was a lot of interest via Shannon’s drama that I was involved in by proxy. That’s eased off a lot-both the interest and the drama, thank goodness.

I *hate* when people don’t comment. I’m not the hugest comment-leaver on your blog, but I do comment every now and then. I got rid of my IAM blog for a number of reasons but the greatest was that so many people read it every day and yet nobody ever commented. It’s kind of creepy.
I know some people don’t comment because they think their opinions are uncalled for, or because they think they don’t know the person well enough. IF ANY OF YOU ARE READING — NOT TRUE! EVERYONE LOVES GETTING COMMENTS! COMMENTS ARE LIKE SMILES! COMMENTS ARE LIKE WAVES! THEY ARE NICE EVEN FROM STRANGERS! unless of course they are mean comments.

  5. Rosie says:

(also please don’t disappear! I love your blog)

  6. Rosie says:

(also I just noticed some comments I have left from my phone on previous posts never seem to have appeared on your blog… I wonder if anyone else has had that issue?)

  7. Mumma says:

And I will miss your musings/photos/art projects. Gotta admit that I usually go to your blog a couple of times a day, every time hoping there’s something new. If it’s to be once a week, then once a week it is. xoxo

  8. Mumma says:

PS. I think I love the blues the best…

  9. Caitlin Jane says:

Aw, guys. I barely get any mean comments. Maybe it’s good that I’m feeling motivated to do stuff rather than read about stuff online?

  10. Robyn says:

Please don’t cut us off, Caitlin. I don’t normally comment but I read all your posts.. I love looking at all your little create-y things and makings. I hope you post more doll house updates soon. Good luck with your projects!

    Yours in spirit,
    Robyn

AH! i only buy green/olivey yarn too! always. I have had a green yarn problem for years. I just can’t bring myself to buy much else. All of my family is getting sick of greenish knitted gifts. go green!

  12. Jamie says:

I read you’re blog all the time..and comment on occassion..:P But I do know what you mean about no one ever commenting…NO ONE ever says anything on mine, but then again I’m pretty damned dull too!

  13. Jamie says:

Oh and I LOVE all the green, it’s my favorite color!

  14. cj's sis says:

I love your blog!! I am so far away from you and I love to read whatever you write!! I promise I will comment more!! Seriously, anything you post, anytime you post, I will read it and feel a little bit closer to you.
    xoxoxo

I love your blog too. I found your blog because I read Shannon’s (from before the dwama)and as a crafter, kept reading your blog. I crochet, am learning how to sew, and am planning on learning how to knit – so I love seeing all your projects and lusting after your yarn and such.

Anyhow, I never comment because I feel it’s rude because I am an anonymous internet person.

  16. Laura says:

I seriously censor myself from inundating you with comments lest you think I am using your blog as my own messaging service!
Here are 2 comments that i have thought but not posted in the past:
    1) Please don’t be insulted (perhaps reason why I didn’t say this before) but for some reason when I hear Sarah Harmer music now I picture you being the person acting out her words. Not like I sit and purposely daydream about you..it just unfolds in my head that way almost as a movie running behind whatever I am actively doing. Like my brain now thinks you are Sarah Harmer.
2)I saw a calendar last week that made me think of you. It was called “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” and it was paintings of people that looked like they just walked out of a Jane Austen book..but with rotting flesh etc. It made me laugh.

I think its great that you are feeling like doing other things. As long as you are not feeling ‘unloved’ and ditching bloggyness for that reason. I don’t know anything about your drama and that is not where you appeal lies as far as I’m concerned. I love your random sightings like insane God Save the Queen Shoes (which I actually thik you should buy and then sell next summer to some crazy monarchist who wants to celebrate Prince Williams upcoming wedding) and your crafts!

I think your blog is the bees knees. I hope you are enjoying life, no matter what you get up to.

  17. MissJanet says:

I must admit that the Shannon drama brought me to your blog, but I regulary check in ever since because you are an interesting and quite cool person. I don’t comment so much because english is not my first language and writing is fighting.

I’m looking forward to new entries here and hope you have a real good time between posts. :)

  18. Jamie says:

I have also decided I really want the chunky green yarn :) It SCREAMS hat to me :P

  19. Sarah says:

I always read, even if I don’t comment! Heck, be glad you’re not me — I literally have received one comment, ever, since re-launching my blog. And it was my boyfriend’s roommate making fun of me.

Don’t go getting too much of a life on us, lady.

  20. Caitlin Jane says:

Sarah, I fricking loved Jerkasaurus when you were obsessed on Big Brother. Like, seriously, loved your blog, you, my oldest internet friend who I have met irl, are a great writer. I subscribe to your tumblog and while I am no where near the baseball fanatic you are, I still love reading your shit.

Jamie, if you were in Toronto I’d happily gift that yarn to you. But I am DAMNED if I ever use Canada Post again unless I absolutely have to, it’s too fucking expensive. And stupid. And hate inducing.

Laura, you are my best internet friend. I’m actually scared to meet you irl because what if you hate how I smell or something like that? And you’re all, oh, that was nice. Not.

Everyone else? I can’t thank you all enough for the encouraging words and love and seriously? I’ll try. I’m going to get this blog up and running on my ipad and I will do everything I can do include pictures and everything.

  21. sarah says:

i think the drama initially reeled me in, but now i check daily. dont quit! i need reading material! books? what those?

  22. Amy says:

I’m sure I originally found you through Shannon (I used to read his BME blog.) I’m not really interested in the drama though. I haven’t commented before because “you don’t know me” but now that I think about it, I love getting comments from people I don’t know on my blog. Or anyone for that matter! I like to check out your crafting projects.
BTW, mine is a crochet/occasional knit blog :)

  23. Caitlin Jane says:

Oh, the drama. One day I will write all about it, my version of the story. And it won’t be pretty; it will be like a hideous, fatal house fire with people screaming and lots of tears and shocked faces. You will all wonder how I survived it.

Here’s the other reason comments are nice: it leads me, almost always, to read other people’s blogs and learn stuff from them. I really do believe in community, even if it’s just on the internet. I always comment when it’s something I like or it’s pretty or funny or whatever. I also always try to win things but never do, not so much.

  24. sarah says:

oh msn i cant wait for the drama!

  25. Pshh I read all the time, I just don’t always comment. :)
Wish my yarn stash was that big. I have yarn envy.

  26. Twwly says:

    KEEP BLOGGING DAMMIT!

    (Please?)

  27. Laura says:

I feel the same way! I worry that irl I won’t come off as anything but brain dead and distracted as my children monopolize my attention while I try to maintain a conversation. And I would not want to lose my awesome internet friend!

I’m sure you smell lovely, or at least interesting. I mostly smell like rotten milk and other bodily fluids…Though, i hope that time will help to lessen this.

I read your blog every time you update, even when I don’t comment. The only reason I don’t comment is because sometimes I don’t have two hands and I want to say more than I can type with one finger on my left hand.

  28. Lea says:

I love your crafty side, and the random things you post from your daily travels. I don’t comment often at all, because I thought it’d be creepy, but your blog is thoroughly entertaining.
