I’d been wanting to make fingerless gloves for a long time and struggled with patterns and yarns and with general apathy. And didn’t make one . I also felt extreme guilt about not finishing my dad’s xmas socks from last year, but I soldiered on and finally came up with a pattern I could use: not only does this glove fit me like, well, a glove, it’s also easy.
Ish.
You can clearly see a few errors, that’s what happens when you’re me. It’s pretty glaringly obvious that I ripped out some stitches across the back and re knit them backwards (?). I’m also not thrilled with the bind off, I’ll do better on the right glove. And divide the stitches morether cleverlier.
It’s nice yarn, from Romni, 60% angora, 40% other shit.

That’s what I’m paying $20+ for every few years – protection for my hands from paper itches (I had some nerve damage after carpal tunnel surgeries) and to hide my hand tattoos.
Your creation reminded me of an improved version of the wretched things I wear.
I crochet those all the time, but they aren’t as pretty as yours. I have a pair that go to my elbows, I use them at work, because I sit by the outisde wall and it gets brrrr brrrr cold. but I can still type with them on.
Hey those look great!!!! I find a great bind of for fingerless gloves is the Tubular Bind Off in which you actually just use a darning needle and do some weird stitching. It’s easy to follow here though:

that’s the tutorial i like to use. The bind off is nice and stretchy, and looks kind of decorative. :)
Great job though!.. they look really comfortable.
You are definitely inspiring me to start making things again. Your work looks so nice (and the “flaws” make me think that I might be able to do it … not make it unattainable).
Thanks guys!
The second one turned out much better than the first. I’m going to make another pair, I have pink yarn that’s on the chopping block, and hopefully they’ll be perfect-and fast. Glove #2 only took about 3 hours total, which kind of sounds like a lot, but it felt fast.
lady I love your awesome creations!
