If I had a dollar for everytime I was told that! Though these days I tend to hide my Monster-ness behind my the calm, mature mother costume that I have adopted.

Ashley must have the emotional strength of an ox. I too have emailed her, simply from her blog integrity, and received awesome emotional, mental support.

The small world seems to stem from Kincardine area. My friend who grew up/lives there said that no matter where she goes, she seems to run into people from Kincardine. Which I always thought strange since it’s a pretty small area. But, even here in England I became friends with someone who grew up in Walkerton, whose sister lives in Kincardine and who is now moving from England to Kincardine in 2 weeks. The world revolves around Kincardine in some bizarre way.

For some reason, I want to say it was Julie. Though, I may have made this up. About 3 years or so ago she had black hair with bangs and loads of tattoos and I think she had a nose ring, but a through the middle nose ring. I have some pictures of her somewhere. She had the greatest sense of humour (especially for someone who dealt with a lot of drunk people) and she was super nice too!

Ha, that’s awesome. It’s hard to get perspective on my blog, like, I have no idea what it looks like to strangers for the most part. It’s got no real theme, unless you call me, Caitlin, a theme. I try to keep it light hearted around here for the most part: overall my life is 70% awesome and 30% suck. And that’s probably not accurate either.

Ashley Duncan is an old/new friend of mine. We knew each other a million years ago, via Shannon (of course) but never really connected. When I was going through a rough spot a year and a half ago, I emailed her and asked her to just listen to me-because I liked her blog so much, I knew her perspective was good. Now we’re great friends. Go figure! I knew Scott from way before, he is best friends with an ex boyfriend of mine and I hung out with him frequently in the mid 90′s.

Small fucking world, eh?

I’m also trying to think what waitress is favoured at Dee’s. I always loved Julie very much-she’s long gone now-and of course my darling Demitra who’s section I always intentionally sit in if it’s possible.

Until one of my friends tried to pick up our favourite waitress and then was too embarrassed so he wouldn’t go back anymore.

We have a very ‘six degrees’ connection. A good friend of mine lives in Kincardine, was tattoed by Scott, and turned me onto Ashley’s blog. I have been reading her blog since I was mid-pregnancy with Ella. She blogged about you, which brought me around to reading your stories about all the little awesome things in a daily Toronto life. You so often wrote about little, quirky things in your day which encapsulated the love I had for my life in Toronto. I enjoy creeping into your life and rekindling my love for open-minded, authentic living..especially when I am (often) slapped in the face by the backwards opinions and oppressive elitism of living in England.

Now that you know I am just a creepy blog stalker…?

I’ve intentionally always avoided that area for that very reason. My thighs and gut are big enough, thank you very much, Sneaky Dee’s.

Do I know you via Shannon, then? What’s our connection?

I spent a year and a half at College/Bathurst dabbling in sewing with no friends who had similar interest. I wish i had had someone to go with to all the cool knit/material shops. and to hold me accountable for finishing a project now and then.
Instead I lived in a house with 5 guys who ranged from quirky to batshit wacko who drove me to a stint in CAMH. good times.

Jeremy is the name Veronica and I gave my baby doll who I think was a Tender Lovin’ Care doll, but I may be remembering incorrectly. She wore a yellow sleeper with a bum flap and had a rubber head, hands and bum, cloth body.

She’s nice and soft and floppy but her hair’s a disaster and she’s very dirty. Dirty to the point where I don’t really like touching her much, poor thing. She was very loved by me and Veronica, and used constantly for playing house and simulating the birthing process. Her pajamas have gone missing somehow!

Laura, having my friend Kerrick next door has been awesome, I know what you mean by having a near by mentor, what a help she’s already been.

And really, ENGLAND? How come we weren’t friends while you were here?

I wish you lived with me and could be my mentor in all things sewing/knitting related!

She’s practically a baby, in relative terms, but not in any better shape.
