This was so fun and I hate leaving people disappointed. I did suggest to Shannon that we give away more of his shirts but he wasn’t that thrilled about that idea. But really, considering the 3 garbage bags of his old xl bme (and related) shirts (at least, not the cut up ones!) we could have a total blast.
I’ll work at convincing him.

Laura, I’m addicted to BBUK thanks to Gillian (aka typealice). My thoughts and feelings on who will win and who I like best seem to change with the week, but at the moment, I like John James ftw. I’m off Ben, I think Dave is a total perv, Andrew is too dorky, Josie was my favourite but she blew it with the Caoimhe silliness (and Caoimhe was my favourite until she split), I don’t like Corin or Steve. The newer guests are ok, but might wind up grating on me like almost everyone else. I don’t like Mario.

I don’t like Mario either. He just goes about whining and acting like a baby. Corin and Steve I am neutral about. They haven’t done enough to bother me or interest me. Though I briefly took interest in Steve with Keeley in there because I enjoyed watching a teeny woman make his Big Daddy-ness fall apart.
I like Ben. Not that I like him as a person, but I enjoy watching his explanations of all his statements and behaviour. He has a lengthy explanation for every word he utters which I find funny.
I liked Josie until she got so needy with the JohnJames/Caoimhe/Keeley etc. I don’t know how JohnJames stands it. The second new women come in she latches onto him and begs him to still love her and acuses him of changing allegiance. If I were him I would get so frustrated.
I HATED Caoimhe. I thought she was annoying and really really self-centred.
But most of all I want to slap Rachel in her face. I have been watching it less since she came on because I really get annoyed by the faces she hangs, the things she says and her stupid attitude.
I do think Dave would make me feel very uncomfortable, like a leering weirdo on a bus. And religious arguments aside, why does the love of the lord have to bubble out of his belly? It grosses me out when he says that.
Andrew makes me giggle. He is such a nerdo, but he throws himself into things (like screaming at them all yesterday!). I feel like he could be your friend’s kid brother…the guy that you never hang out with, but you have a soft spot for, you know?
Do you watch just the Big Brother show itself? or do you watch Big Brother’s Little Brother as well?
I mostly just watch the show but I have been known to watch bblb too, in times of desperation and loneliness. I watch the episodes on youtube, they get posted in the evenings, about 8:30 our time. It’s a huge pain but easier than using torrents.
After yesterday, Corin went up in my estimation but just a little. I think I don’t like her because she’s fake in every way and I’m not overly interested in the fake tan/boobs/eyebrow/hair crowd. Lots of other people are into that, so they can have her.
You called it on Ben, he’s crazy about over analyzing everything and really trying so hard to make himself right. I think his goal often seems to baffle ‘em with bullshit. It makes the other contestants think he’s very clever, but I’m not so sure he is. I am not so sure anyone in the house is, other than Andrew, and he’s only maths-smart. Not useful in the real world.
Dave…a little too cuddly with Andrew and the spray tan. That was more homoerotic than I am used to on the US version of the show (which, incidentally, Shannon and I are not watching this season).
Yeah, Dave had been a tad homoerotic since the start. For a guy who doesn’t condone male/male relationships he spends a lot of time in all-male cuddle orgies.
Adam was reading me results of their pre-entrance IQ tests and Ben scored really low.
And yeah, I can agree with the Corin image thing. It is weird living here because that fake boob/tan/eyebrow image is a big hit here. Girls aspire to it. It is weird and worrisome (to say the least).
There was a BBC special on the subject recently where they interviewed pre-teen girls and their parents. The parents were condoning (and funding!) boob jobs for their girls before they were even post-pubescent. and getting up with them at 5 am to help curl/straighten their expensive hair extensions etc before school! SHUDDER.

I absolutely love how awkward Ben is. I don’t care about Mario, Steve, Corrin. I was initally happy to see Shabby there until I realized she was immature and annoying. Couldn’t care about Caoimhe leaving. Whatever to Rachael and Keely, though I kind of think that Andrew is cute. Dave annoys me, mostly when he’s Drunk on Christ.
So far I don’t care about the new housemates at all. I’m really disappointed at this season’s houseguests, actually, esp compared to Season 7s!
I loved the boys’ cuddlefest, the other day though. Mario in the middle, JJ on one side, and Ben and Dave on the other. That’d NEVER fly in the BBUS one.

I had never seen it before last year. But i definetly prefer last year’s housemates. There were some entertaining crazies in last year’s group. This year all the housemates are a bit blah. If I met them at a party I would nod politely for a while and then say “Sorry, I have to go over here now” and turn to face away from them.
Last year there was poor deluded and sometimes outrageously frustrating Sree. There was Marcus, who I would love to hang out with cause he was kind of like a comic book geek that lives in his mother’s basement (although there are no basements here) but he somehow made it seem cool. And insane Angel. Ah, good times.
I happened to like Halfwit. I thought he was great. But I might be in the minority AND I didn’t really watch all of last season.
Ok, and about John James’ ‘leaving’ the house yesterday: I do NOT like how Josie handles that sort of thing, she gets so defensive and quite mean “Stop being an idiot!” seems completely out of order. JJ is such a sweet heart to her, why can’ she see that? He’s so tortured! I got all choked up, he just seemed completely lost and finished.
How do people in the UK feel about this? I liked how the producers did everything to get him back into the house, I’d be willing to bet that if it was ANY other guest they’d be out on their ass by now.
Although I guess we’ll really find out on Friday’s evictions.
I loved Halfwit too! I thought he got the wrong end of the stick so many times just because he was nice. I think Halfwit was the guy that Ben thinks He is.
Think about Halfwith, though: for the rest of his life that will be his name! Walking down the street, daily, he’s got to hear “Oi! Halfwit!” Can you imagine???
