The original fabric I was going to use for the background of this quilt did not work out so well (it was a black light weight denim) so I had to do some quick improv. I wound up getting fabric at Ikea because…well, because it’s cheap there. I couldn’t make up my mind, like, when does that ever happen? So I went with black, orange and yellow.
Yeah.
Now I can’t decide how to organize them. Here’s where you come in.
1.
2.
3.
#1 was my original plan and then I turned a couple of the blocks and came up with #2. ThenĀ I wondered if it was a little busy, so I made a checkerboard, #3. I just don’t know.
The further possibilities (although time is a huge factor, I’ll be sewing on Tuesday) are to get rid of a colour (probably the orange) and just do a black and yellow checkerboard or stripes or…Agg. It’s endless. AndĀ I wish I’d also bought red fabric.
Help? Mommy? Anyone?

I really like #1 because the rings are much more obvious. I agree that #2 seems busy and I think that the checkerboard pattern on #3 distracts from the rings (I only saw lines at first).
I like number 1…don’t really know why, my eyes just liked it the best…or as Isabella would say…it’s the bestestest!
I like #3, but I would not say that if I had only seen them in the small computer-screen or paper sized representation… At size, in person, they seem to translate quite differently.
#3 is my least favourite, I think. I like #1 a lot, but there’s something about #2…c
I personally like number one too, great work!
I (possibly the traditionalist) like the first one. I think that the colour layout works surprisingly well and I really like seeing the double rings. It was hard for me to imagine anything beyond the traditional white background but I really love the three colours. The rings are enhanced so well and it adds to the whole.
I’m strongly in agreement with everyone. #1!
i like one too. also because the rings seem the most obvious.
-corrie ( i couldn’t be bothered to change all ryan’s info which was already in the fields )
I love #1!!!
[...] In order (as in, continuing from the first three) [...]
I like #3 best…but they’re all beautiful!
