On Friday I went to see my first Jays’ game of the season. It was freezing cold up in the nose bleeds, wind gusting and T and I snuggled up. It was one heck of a game, Jays won 16-10, so that was exciting. And the young couple beside us who’d smuggled in their own booze and fought like crazy the whole time.
All for $11 a ticket. Cheap thrills, kids.
And then we went bowling on Saturday (for my birthday) with a friend of Ari’s who kicked everybody’s ass. Have you ever been trounced by a 7 year old at a bowling alley? Next time we’re playing 10 pin and we’ll see what’s what.
Also, Shannon and I completely forgot to see David Copperfield on Thursday. I’m trying not to cry.
That’s me on my way to class at the workroom. Started my double wedding ring quilt, I have a terrible feeling I’ve bitten off more than I can chew.

Girl, you look fabulous!
OMG I’m super jealous you were at that crazy game! I was listening to the Sox game on my drive down to NY that night. They had to double check the inning when they announced the score was 8-1 Jays in the third. And for $11 a ticket, I can’t even imagine.
Thanks, Janet. All those hours at the gym? Naw. Genetics.
Jays scored 8 runs in the third inning alone! It was total madness! And you know it’s a good game when it ends after the first half of the ninth inning because there’s no coming back!
How much are baseball tickets elsewhere? Because it’s hockey tickets that are out of control here…
I would offer to cut pieces for your quilt, but I am pretty positive I would make a friggin mess!!
I just paid $50 for two tix to a Mets game at Citi Field in the nosebleeds. I paid something like $120 for two tix to see the Sox at Fenway. To be fair, that was part of a fan pack that includes a hat, admission to watch BP from the Green Monster, and a free park tour, but we’re not exactly sitting behind home plate. Last year I paid about $80 for a pair of bleacher seats at Fenway on Stubhub, and maybe $45 for two tix at Camden Yards for Sox/Orioles.
Just for funsies, I looked up the ticket price for “Best Available” seats at Yankee Stadium for Sox/Yanks tomorrow. $1,325.
I’ve not been to Rogers Centre but I’d like to check it out someday. I think this year we’re going to visit Petco Park in San Diego though. I’m trying to visit one ballpark I’ve never been to before each year.
Well, Sarah, you know I always love having visitors and I’d take you to as many games as we could fit in. They’re a little more on Sat/Sun, I think $16. Not crazy. And tickets are pretty much always available.
I’d love to go to Fenway. And isn’t Yankee Stadium insanely expensive these days? I thought I’d heard Artie Lange talking about how much his season tix cost…Lots.
Ashley, I’ve finished the small, finicky cutting, thanks. I’d like you to get on to the larger squares, if you don’t mind! Kidding, obvi, I’ll do them tomorrow at the WR. When I do the sewing part.
