So my first time out on my xmas roller skates was a complete disaster. Our alley/driveway is extremely rustic: It may as well be a gravel road. And I should have known better, I should have walked to the end of it and THEN put on my skates, but no, I was feeling ambitious. And distracted for one split second by a neighbor, I fell.
Hard.
I sucked it up and did the promised round in the (smooth) driveway next door. Then hobbled in to see what was what. Ari’s face was classic, I should have taken a picture of that.

Looks better but trust me, it hurts, a lot, and is bleeding through the bandaid. And it’s got some strange numbness around it too. I haven’t had a knee injury like this for so long I forgot what they were like.
I’m getting knee pads. And wrist guards.


I’m sorry you fell. (I have enough problems with flip flops)
This is just another random “i follow you on Google Reader and never comment” comment.
You should see my knees from years of roller derby, they just constantly look bruised and banged up from all the scars….it was worth it.
Ha, Rebekah, that google reader is my friend. I recommend it to everyone but I don’t really get a feel for how many people use it.
Ashley-it’s totally time for knee pads and wrist guards. I was lucky not to hurt my hand but my knee’s dead for a few days at least.
