iphone self portraits

By in food

I took these on my walk home from Dufferin Mall today. I tried to take a picture of an hilarious hipster but missed him by inches so I turned my camera to myself instead. I’m almost as hip, with my Gap for Kids sunglasses, right?

movement

It’s better blown up, if you click it you can see. It’s motion.

Speaking of my phone, I’ve had a few problems with it for a couple days. I’m new to the world of macs and all that so I find them hard to use and confusing. Especially itunes. I just don’t understand why I can delete apps directly from my phone but not podcasts or songs. Not even the podcasts I download directly onto it. Then for about 24 hours itunes wasn’t even seeing my phone when it was plugged in. Not only that, but itunes was also freezing when the phone was plugged in. Unplugged? Everything’s kosher.

I installed the newest version of itunes on both my computer and my phone. Here’s me hoping it works better.

I have a headache. I made these but they’re not for eating for another 45 minutes.  If they’re not good I am going to blow a gasket. Watch me.

In other news, Roger Ebert’s interview on Esquire is quite amazing, leading me to read his blog , lots of movie reviews and other interesting stories. I was thrilled to read that he thought Synecdoche NY was the best film of the past decade. I loved it too and look forward to having time to watch it again.

i saw the cupcakes on your blog, and couldnt resist. i ran out, got the ingrediants, and made my own. 4 hours/overnight is going to be hard, though!

    Hi Caitlin,
if itunes does not see the phone, change it to another USB-slot. That usually does the trick. I fight with itunes alot and honestly – I miss my stoneaged PC with Windows 98 on it quite a lot. She was slow, but she was reliable!

In other news: Roger Ebert is the man!

Sarah, they’re very yummy! On the verge of too yummy, if that’s even possible!

Janet, yeah. I think I tried that but I could be wrong. AND I think there IS a way to delete podcasts without plugging in, I’ll fiddle with that later.

My further complaint about itunes is that it doesn’t get up 20 minutes earlier than me and make coffee. I mean, REALLY.

OMG I read that interview last night. It was amazing.

I’ve eaten 2 so far, one per day. Oogh, even that feels like a lot.

I haven’t yet sync d my iphone, but it seems that you delete podcasts in the same manner you delete emails.
go to the specific podcast you wish to delete, slide your finger across it left to right. a red delete box will appear and touch delete.

I’ve had my iphone for six weeks. I’m living dangerously by not syncing it.

  8. Caitlin Jane says:

Yes, I figured that out-deleting podcasts manually-on my own. That’s helped a lot.

And I am seriously still loving Radio Lab.

A few years ago my mom gave me a copy of The Orchid Theif. I read it mainly because I grew up going to places like the Fakehatchee as a young boy.
It was a book that covered many places I was/am familiar with.
I then later, by coincidence, watched Adaptation. I knew nothing of the premise.
If you have never seen Adaptation, please read The Orchid Theif first! Charlie Kaufman is so insane! It will make that movie 1000X more F-ed up!

RadioLab is a cool seasonal favorite of mine. Down here they seem to run for one week a year. Maybe it’s better that way.
    Glad somoene else likes it.

You know, I have seen Adaptation but I honestly can’t remember much about it. I used to have Being John Malcovich on video and watched that a lot, a default movie sort of, and loved it. I will see if The Orchid Thief is on Kindle.

Ira Glass plugged Radio Lab on the latest This American Life, how cool is that?!

My dear Tim did the tattoos on that movie. And has a hilarious stinky fox tattoo on his wrist from JJLee.

I wish you’d put a warning before that link to the Oreo cheesecake cupcakes (“NSFD” not safe for diets or something!) because I gave up sugar 3 weeks ago to improve my skin… I’ve dropped 2kg without even trying, making me actually underweight and able to eat far more delicious things than I used to. But this! no question, it would be drowning in sugar :( I literally drooled and then almost cried.

  13. Caitlin Jane says:

They were good, Rosie. They were REAL good. I think I ate 2/12, the rest going into Shannon’s belly.

  14. Rosie says:

haha so cruel… I admire your ability to stop at two though!
