Whatever the opposite of gorgeousness is

By in kitty

Shannon and Ari were watching some documentary about animals on the verge (as in, the last one in the world) of exctinction and paused it at this screen shot. Lord. I stared at this for half an hour while he made dinner.  Never has the name Turdy been more appropriate.

unnnggggh.

It’s not a caption, it’s a subtitle. I wasn’t listening, so I don’t actually know what was being said about this gruesome beautiful anus turtle.

I keep looking at this blog entry and laughing. It’s ridiculous.

not sure if you’ve listened to the stern show lately. maybe you haven’t seen this:

I know, Tim. Sad, but…I don’t know, Artie’s been…not so great on the show for a long time, in my opinion. Especially after listening to the tapes over xmas, all that Billy West/Jackie stuff was SO funny, so clever and silly and brilliant. They make Artie look like a schlub. And I really don’t find his stand up that great either. But I do want him to get through this, I don’t want anything terrible to happen to him.

AND I’d like to vote for Jim Breuer to take over.

artie recently hasn’t been very good, but i feel like that’s all related to whatever he’s going through. he’s really seemed out of it for a while.

i don’t want to choose between jackie and artie. i like them both. billy west and jackie used to do all kinds of great stuff. artie’s been there for some good things too, maybe not as much but who knows.

the show itself i don’t think is as good as it used to be so it’s hard to say who is better. artie might seem worse when he’s backed up with a more tired show.

i will say he’s just brought a lot of drama to the show, and made it more about himself than jackie ever did.

i don’t know who i’d like to see replace artie. it probably depends on whether howard signs on again or not. jim breuer might not be a bad idea because he can be really funny but he might be too strong of a personality, a bit like artie. he might just take over the show.

they are, at least jokingly, talking about bringing jackie back so fingers crossed i guess, since he’s the only one that can really get the show.

then again they could spend the rest of the year just talking to JD and i’d be fine.

OK seriously, WTF is that thing? lol

Or more so what kind of turtle is that? It is a turtle right?

  8. Caitlin Jane says:

Steph, I have NO idea what kind of turtle that is. All I know is that it’s the last one in the world.

Tim-maybe I judge Artie too harshly, I don’t know. I think Sirius…maybe it’s just too easy to go for the grossest, filthiest, swear word encrusted joke now, on terrestrial radio they had to try hard to be sneaky and subtle. It was a completely different time. I’ve been listening since he was on here, in Toronto, then I missed it for a while, then listened on a Detroit station when I lived in Windsor and got Sirius for xmas when they switched. Believe me, I am no Stern expert, but Artie hasn’t been on the ball for a long time.

And don’t think I want Jackie back, no way. F Jackie. He’s an unfunny hack who’s too bitter about his shitty life. He was great back in the day, with Billy West, but not now. Too old and out dated.

I like JD too, he’s great. And I will always love Richard Christy. Sal…not so much, but he’s got his moments. I’d be happy to never hear Ronnie’s voice again. I like the wrap up show. I never listen to 101.

you’re right about sirius. it’s still a good and entertaining show but a lot of the time it’s just too over the top. i don’t want to hear girls on the sybian. i don’t necessarily need to hear swear words every five sentences.. they definitely lost something when they stopped having to be so sneakily rude.

i guess i would like jackie to be back because it might be more like the old show, but it’s probably just past it’s prime. the whole cast is starting to show their age talking about certain things, and howard is even more stubborn.

i could easily just listen to the wrap up show. it’s such a relaxed sounding show, and a lot of funny stuff happens on there that won’t happen on the real show because howard doesn’t let a lot of people dig themselves into a hole like jon hein does.

Jon Hein missed his calling as a lawyer. He’s really good at that!
