If you haven’t tossed it yet, the cake type object will freeze fairly well. It’s easiest in slices, though. Also, the goop can be frozen, and could be used to make wonderful icings, either by simply adding icing sugar, or (my favourite) adding it to a cream cheese icing, to make a ganache cream cheese icing. Hope I was in time… Chocolate is an awful thing to waste :)

I just can’t see myself shelling out the dough (and not that it was an enormous amount, but…) for what will potentially be wasted. The cake’s barely being eaten (I’m the only one, one slice a day) so it will get tossed, and the leftover chocolate goop will get chucked out too.

And I HATE wasting food! Hate it!

If you’re still planning on truffles, try this:
3/4 c. raw cashews
3/4 c. liquid (you can use water but port is my favourite)
1 lb. bittersweet or semisweet chocolate
cocoa powder

blend the cashews & liquid in a food processor till it’s totally smooth. Melt the chocolate and mix it with the cashews. Chill until it’s solid enough to roll into balls. Do so. Then roll the balls in cocoa powder.

Sometimes I put in different spices as well, cinnamon is good, chipotle chili is really good, orange or peppermint would probably be good as well.

Makes life so much easier!
I like the idea of truffle crepes tho, add some cherries and make it a christmas treat!

I’m glad you could turn it into something else. It’s frustrating when you follow all the instructions and something doesn’t come out.
