I asked the gym guy yesterday, and he very clearly said that it’s better to extend your legs, which totally makes sense. And he also said that the numbers that the machine generates are pretty arbitrary. So I don’t really believe I burn that many calories, but I do sweat like crazy. He also said that you (meaning me) can plateau in a workout and it’s basically pointless to carry on and on so maybe 40 minutes isn’t a great idea after all.

Probably best to do 10 minutes on the bike, 10 on the elliptical, 10 on the treadmill, whatever, but to switch it up.

I thought extended was better, but I am feeling quite frustrated these days!

The secret is putting the seat forward, I leave enough room for my water bottle, and pound away.

I work it at 7. For now, it’s hard enough.

It’s probably wrong. But I feel skinnier and I’ve lost about 5lbs in the last 2 weeks.

I must be doing something wrong, as I rarely top 80 RPM (I go to the gym or run or ballet or swim almost everyday — it’s not due to being unfit!). How difficult is your setting? Maybe I should drop a few levels and go faster, I might end up getting more out of it!
