Over too quickly

By in a good day, babies, food, friends

Remember last year when I went to the orphan’s Superbowl party? That happened again this past weekend.

I left early Sunday morning-my train was at 7:50am-and was picked up by my friends Karen and Greg. We got coffees and went to Karen’s to get all caught up and laugh our heads off.

Then Karen drove me to Rob and Shirann’s house where I finally met their baby girl Ruby who was born last October. She is such a sweet baby, mellow and happy. It was hard to hand her back to her mom when it was time to go to the big party.

Big? Well, there were lots of kids and a bunch of moms, so that was good. And again, really great to see old friends. Kim gave me a handmade garter for my wedding and we ate chili and spinach dip and cookies.

Then I slept over at Rob’s, played with the baby all morning, until my friend Jill called and we went to Target! Yay, Target! I got some stuff, mostly junkfood, but I love junk.  And I got a shirt at Forever 21, a store I would like more if they didn’t put John 3:16 on the bottom of their bags.

I got home last night around 11, so it was a brief trip. I am hoping some people get to Toronto soon. I think if Shirann lived closer to me she’d be my other best girlfriend…

Ruby is the squishiest baby ever:

So cute!

Sounds like you had a great visit. Friends, babies, food and shopping. Really, it don’t get much better then that!

I will be able to come over for the NEXT superbowl at least.

Nicole-it’s true, I did have a great time. And Ruby wasn’t the only baby, there was a Caitlin at the party who was great too. I’ve never been in a situation with a person who has the same name as me so that was fun. And her mom has the same name as my sister. Haha.

Ali-I will hold my breff. And I am really hoping that you Southerners come up to Toronto one day!
