Here are some samples of embroidery I did some time around 2002, I think, but maybe earlier.
I was going to make an entire Simpsons themed quilt, but using the lesser known characters that carry the episodes. The only three I made (and one isn’t finished) are Sherri and Terri, Wendell and Uter. I had plans for lots of others, notably baby Gerald, old Gil, Lisa’s frenemy Janey, Mrs. Glick, Snowball I and II, Brad “do what you feel like” Goodman and Hank Scorpion. Well, like so many of my projects, I quit halfway through Uter. Ah, well. One day.

Hi!
I’ve been reading your blog for a while and I’m really impressed with your knitting and sewing. It’s given me lots of inspiration. :)
I just have to say that I love this Simpsons idea! It’s nice to see the more unknown characters and it’s so well done!
I hope you finish it. :)

Thanks, Maria, for real. Most of the time I feel like I am making stuff only for myself, but when I sell the occasional piece, it makes me crazy happy.
I am working on a crochet owl right now, will post pictures as soon as it’s done.
:)
I look forward to seeing that!
I’m knitting a babyblanket as a surprise-gift for a friend who’s 34 weeks pregnant. The yarn is real nice, it’s multicoloured yellow/pink/purple in a light shade. Hopefully the baby isn’t in a hurry to get born ’cause it will probably take a while… :)
I’m curious about how you’ve learned all your knitting/crochet techniques?
Those are ace. I especially like the simpsons.
i haven’t done embroidery in years…and i LOVE your simpsons embroidery!! the last thing i did was a big wonder stuff patch back in high school.
yet again, you’ve inspired me to make something cool!!
I just wanted to post saying that we have the same name.. Caitlin jane lol. I like your knitting.. I do crocheting myself.. not very well but.. you’re very good.
Rob probably still has the Mr. Burns one you did for his birthday.
Maria-I am pretty much entirely self-taught. I love reading, I have a pile of books on crochet and crafting and they help a lot. I also used to work at a costume company and we had spare time there and older women so they taught me stuff too, which was great, I owe them big time.
Andy-thanks! I wish the Simpsons would go back to being a good show. I have found it unwatchable for about 5 years now. I mean, think about how funny and clever it was 10 years ago, 14 years ago.
Jenn, DO IT! Make something cool!
C-Jane-Weird! When I was a little kid (remember, I am 36) I was the ONLY Caitlin around, in all it’s varieties of spelling. Nowadays, seems like there’s one of us on every corner, how cool! And thanks, I actually don’t knit at all-although I know how fairly well-I gave it up for Lent and just never picked it back up. So, thanks for the kind words!
Ali-I was thinking about that too, I wonder. I guess I will find out when I am in Windsor at the end of the month.
Speaking of Windsor…I don’t think I can make it over this time. Kevin still hasn’t gotten his paperwork back from the stuff he needed to send in, and I can’t drive my car over there. Once his paperwork clears we are planning a Toronto trip, however. Will keep you posted!
