Yesterday on my walk to the subway I saw an enormous flock of geese who seemed to be taking a break from their migration route. Conservatively, I would guess at least 200 of them. I am not a huge fan of geese (they would take over the pond at my grandparent’s cottage every year and destroy it with their poop), but seeing so many of them at once and all the traffic at a dead stand still while they slowly saunter across the street, well, I had to dig my camera out and take a couple pictures. The fourth picture is especially great, 2 rows of geese with all the cars stopped!
I know, the last picture is not of geese, but any regular reader of my blog knows how I feel about pigeons (ie, love them). These 2 were just pecking around in the snow minding their own business, trying not to associate with the geese who were taking over their world.
Oh. I made a hat for Ari-I think she’s only worn it once-but I thought I would post a picture because it came out pretty good, and it looks SUPER cute on her head. It’s made of soy yarn so it’s very soft. It’s not thick and warm, but some winter hats don’t want to be too warm, otherwise you end up with a sweaty head and take off your hat and then freeze to death. See? I have lots of theories on hats.

I have a love-hate relationship with geese. I get a kick out of watching them hiss and chase tourists in the summer.
Glad I’m not the only one who loves rock doves!
i love love love the hat that you made for ari! any chance i could commission one for myself?
Lauren, yeah, sure. I think for an adult it might be wiser to use a stronger yarn, like an alpaca type bulky yarn, but sure.
I need to get to the yarn store asap!
