For Sale

By in making stuff is good

Our vacation was about relaxation (amongst other things) and I brought crochet hooks and yarn with me to work on some projects. Believe it or not, that IS relaxing for me. Mindless repetition, ya know? So now I have a few things to off load:

3 Dickeys (and another is a work in progress). The first one is brown alpaca blend yarn with self-striping sock yarn (I think it’s wool but I lost the tag). It’s about 8″ wide and 25″ around. It’s VERY cozy. The second is pink alpaca blend yarn with cotton self striping (that goes pink, orange, purple) yarn, 9″ wide and 22″ around. The third is made of cream coloured soy yarn mixed with self-striping wool sock yarn that is beige and mustard. 7″ wide and 25 around. It’s lighter than the other two, but it’s very soft and pretty. I have put mother of pearl buttons on it instead of sewing it closed. I will post a more current version of it when I have a moment.

Brown Pink Cream

I also have my 2 very manly sock scarves that are looking for good homes. Much like the rabbits (and elephant) I am not asking for a ton of money, mostly just to cover costs AND shipping.

Make me an offer I can’t refuse!

Ps, sock scarves. I don’t know how long/wide they are but they’re like…regular scarves. Around your neck twice and tied in the front like normal scarves.

i’d love to have the yellow/white sock scarf, the one on the middle picture! perfect for winter motorcycling!
i’ll be happy to cover your costs, just ask Shannon about the packet to throw it in! =)

Hey, the middle one is pink/orange. It’s pretty girly, if you ask me. The last one is cream/yellow and work great on either sex. It’s not as thick, though…

  3. krs says:

the middle one may be “girly”, but it looks decently cuddly! the color will just be a friendly bright spot between all the black around it.. :)

  4. Those look super cozy.
Silly Caitlin, crocheting warm things in Mexico…

What are “sock scarves” and what colours are they in?

  6. gaz says:

i neeeed the first one on the left. i have a terrible fear of a cold neck…..which living in england kinda sucks sooo bad.

  7. Caitlin Jane says:

Gaz, for sure, it’s brown and super sweet. I actually wore it today, haha, I hope that isn’t off-putting for you. It’s super warm, can be pulled up to cover ears nicely.

It’s yours for $20 plus shipping, which depends on where you are.

Nicole, the sock scarves are…oh bugger. I will post a picture.

    You should sell on Etsy!

  9. gaz says:

its been real world tested…..im good with that :)

i second the etsy idea, cause thats what i need, more stuff to buy off there, haha.

$20 plus shipping? damn girl your selling yourself short, double that and then let me know how you prefer payment.

i live in sunny manchester, england [/sarcasm] ;)

  10. Caitlin Jane says:

Gaz, I am assuming you know Shannon? He’s fine with me getting paid via his pay pal, just make sure he knows it’s for me. Double it? Well, ok, then $40 plus shipping. Shipping shouldn’t be TOO bad, it will fit into a padded envelope.

Maybe we should discuss via email- caitlinjane and I use gmail, ok?

whats the secret for the pretty wavy pattern?

and how is the unwashed hair?

  12. gaz says:

    email away :)

Sarah-the hair is GREAT. It’s funny, I have always hated washing my hair, but for some reason, I like just conditioning it and am happy to do so twice a week. Go figure. Shannon’s hair is also great. Although he seems to be working on a dread in the back area. Hm.

    Here’s the wave pattern:

It might be confusing, but if you know how to crochet even a little, maybe it’s obvious.

  14. sarah says:

ok, well, not washing does not equal not brushing. or finger combing. if he is getting dreads and doesnt want them, tell him next time he conditions his hair, to work his fingers through it with lots of conditioner and get that knot out. I only do this when went, and once im out of the shower and gel my hair, hands off!

its funny though. I am wearing my hair straight lately, and in the past, i could conditon it once every 6 weeks, iron it, and just do daily touchups. 6 weeks and then it would just be starting to get gross.
when i started to wear it straight 2 weeks ago, for some reason i deicded to use shampoo. i shampooed, conditioned, ironed, wore for a week. at the end of the week my head itched so bad i had to wash it. so i shampooed, conditioned, ironed, wore for a week. today was the week mark and my hair was DISGUSTING. horrible greasy! I conditioned it, and ironed it, but i have a feeling that those 2 times shampooing did major damage. my scalp was so well trained not to produce grease, and i ruined it!

I would love to trade you one project for another… I’ve always wanted to make someone a mobius scarf and you seem like you’d really enjoy it..
    Crocheting also relaxes me :)
