Dar

By in a good day, haha

I went to see the Blue Jays play their second to last game at the Rogers Centre (formerly known as the SkyDome) on Wednesday night, and this spelling error on the Jumbotron made me laugh:

Huge

Can you see it? Here it is closer:

oh brother

Because at a BASEBALL game it’s hard to spell BASEBALL words. Chad Moeller is a catcher, not a catacher. It took me a minute of staring at it, I am not a baseball fan nor a fan of organized team sports in general, wondering if it was a word I just wasn’t familiar with, or perhaps his middle name. Haha.

The powers that be did fix it before he struck out, if you were wondering. And I was being paid to attend this game, if you wondered about that too.

I assumed it was a Canadian spelling like “colour” or “bacon”. :)

how do you get paid to attend baseball games?

  3. Caitlin Jane says:

Chris, yeah. You live so close to Canada, it must feel like home when you read my spelling.

Mike: I do community support for a woman who is (slightly) disabled. Mostly this means I help her with whatever happens between work and bed, so, like, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, hanging out, doing shit, whatever comes up. Often this happens to be baseball (although, she prefers hockey, as do I, but the tickets are hella more expensive-Blue Jays tickets are still only $9 a pop) games or movies. Like tonight we went to see “My Best Friend’s Girl” starring everyone’s favourite zit monster, Dane Cook. It’s a great job, I love it and I often think how amazingly cool it is to do what I do!

wait a minute – the blue jays are leaving the sky dome?

  5. Caitlin Jane says:

No? I don’t think I implied this…did I? It’s not called SkyDome anymore, it’s the Roger’s Centre, so maybe that’s the confusing part.

  6. tim mcdivitt says:

oh no i’m just dumb actually! you said second to last game and i for some reason thought you meant second to last game ever.

  7. Caitlin Jane says:

Yeah, I meant second to last home game of the season. :)
