My old friend Mark is in town from Texas (is there anyone from Texas who isn’t nice? If there is, I don’t want to know it) and brought me my presents from Amazon! Woo! So, I got my beautiful dress and jacket and I am thrilled to bits. I wish I had an iron so I could press the dress properly but I think just wearing it will make the wrinkles fall out. It has cream cotton twill shoulder straps and a sash that ties in the front with little pleats in a diagonal in the front and back. It hangs to just below my knees. The jacket is also super nice, it’s not like anything I have ever worn in my life, so it’s exciting.
Mark also gave me a little something to pass on to Ari and now she’s the proud owner of her very own set of face paints. And not cheap and cheerful junk ones, either, it’s a nice Kryolan set, same as I have from when I learned opera makeup. She’s changed her mind about what she wants to be when she grows up, instead of being a teacher, she now wants to be a makeup artist. Just as long as she’s happy!
Hard to take a decent picture of a skeleton that won’t stop leaping about and scaring me.
Oh! I love that dress. And that picture of Ari scares me!
I’ll tell her. Those face paints are probably the best gift she’s received all year. I owe Mark bigtime.
What a great dress. I have been on a quest for perfect summer dresses since May.
Thanks, Rach, it looks good on too. I should have gone with a medium, but with the tie, I can make it work. Also, I haven’t decided if I like it tied in the back or front, it seems to be ok either way.
