I’m no Andy Rooney, but there are lots of clues in my life that tell me I am getting old. I don’t like most modern music, I think teenagers dress strangely and are ruder than in my day and I like to read signs out loud. Another clue was this pay phone on Yonge Street that I took a picture (I almost typed photo, another clue!) and said, out loud, to myself “WOW!”
I am too old to text. Well, maybe not, but I sure don’t feel like learning how or adding texting to my phone deal. I just might use this phone some time to text people, just for fun.

Funny, I’m so old and out of it that I thought that they keypad on phones were actually for mute people to communicate. I had no idea it was for txting! Oh god.
Is the phone possibly for the hearing impaired or is it truly for texting?
You’re older than me, I guess. Not in years, but in depth of senility. Nice one, Gillian.
I feel like an idiot.
haha completely needless
Haha, Gillian, stop it. I will be walking past this very payphone today and I will look more closely at it to determine what the letters are really for.
Yep, it’s for texting, I believe it’s 10c per message. Couldn’t believe it the 1st time I saw it either.
caitlin, we’re the same age and i text. but only to one friend who works outside all day and gets bored. my husband refers to us as 12 year old girls because he and i only talk via text. i saw him in person last night, and we had nothing to say to each other because i wasn’t sure how to actually pronounce words like “srsly” and “wtf”. he and i could have a whole conversation that nobody would else even understand because we’ve got our own txt language that really doesn’t make any sense. my excuse is that it keeps us young.
Hah! I’m so old I don’t even HAVE a cell phone cause I can’t see the numbers………nevermind texting anyone. What’s that?
You know what I say? Texting schmexting.
haha nice to see that phones have keyboards now. I wanted phones to have keyboards added on.
